Survival Guides Hub

This hub is the map of every practical guide on the wiki. SILENT HILL: Townfall is still an upcoming release — September 24, 2026 on PlayStation 5, Steam, and the Epic Games Store — so these pages are built from official trailers, Konami briefings, and hands-on previews rather than a finished retail patch. They exist to answer the questions players actually search: how to play, how to use the CRTV, how to hide, how to finish a room, and how not to waste a plank on the first creature that looks at you.

If you are brand new, start with the getting started guide. It covers what the game is, what it is not, how long a first run takes, and which systems you should understand before Simon wakes in the water. Then open controls so DualSense haptics, gyro tuning, and the PC layout are not a surprise when the fog closes in.

What belongs in this hub

Townfall is not an action game that happens to be scary. Previewers who spent three or four hours with Screen Burn’s build keep repeating the same loop: peek, hide, listen, tune, and only then swing. The CRTV guide explains the pocket television that replaced the classic Silent Hill radio. The combat and stealth page is for the moments when a silhouette already saw you. How to survive collects health, ammo, and chase advice that does not fit neatly in either article.

Puzzles are not padlocks bolted onto a corridor. Jon McKellan has said the signals you chase are also story. Use puzzles when a radio, an elevator, or a room refuses to make sense, then the Shorefront walkthrough when you want the opening stretch in order: docks, houses, Zoe’s home, first encounter, Otherworld tenement.

How these guides were written

Nothing here invents a button that previews did not show. Where a control is confirmed (L1 peek, L2 block, R2 swing, gyro on the CRTV), it is named. Where Konami has only described a feeling — “evasion is tense; combat is frenetic” — the page says so. The 18-minute official gameplay trailer is the backbone of the walkthrough. PlayStation Blog, IGN, Polygon, GameSpot, and Game Rant previews fill in DualSense details, difficulty names, and how brittle Simon is.

When the game launches, these pages will pick up patch notes from the updates hub. Until then, treat every timing claim as preview-accurate, not as a speedrun bible.

Pair guides with the rest of the wiki

Mechanics are only half of Townfall. The other half is why Simon is on the island. After you can survive a street, read the characters hub so Zoe’s voice on the CRTV and Richard’s summons are not just audio logs. Check editions if you still need to choose Standard or Deluxe, and system requirements if you are on PC. Endings are spoiler-light on the endings page because the game is not out yet — we explain how endings are earned, not how they end.

Official storefronts and social channels sit on links. If a trailer drops during launch week, it will be listed under trailers first.

Suggested reading order

  1. Getting started — what you are buying and how a first night should feel.
  2. Controls — DualSense, gyro, and keyboard notes from previews.
  3. CRTV — the tool that is radar, diary, and puzzle key.
  4. Combat and stealth plus how to survive.
  5. Walkthrough and puzzles for the rooms footage already showed.
  6. St. Amelia, items and weapons, and difficulty once the first night makes sense.

Read in that order and the rest of the wiki — characters, tools, updates — will slot in instead of overlapping. Townfall rewards attention. These guides try to spend that attention on the systems that actually keep Simon alive.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Quick answers for launch week and first-person survival.

Which Townfall guide should I open first?

The getting started guide if you have not played a preview build. Skip ahead to the CRTV guide only if you already understand peek and hide.

Are these walkthroughs complete for the full game?

No. Townfall is upcoming. The walkthrough covers Shorefront rooms shown in official footage and hands-on sessions, not a 14-hour chart.

Do the guides spoil the five endings?

Hub pages stay spoiler-light. Ending structure — three on a first run, two in New Game+ — is on the endings page without plot reveals.

Will controls change at launch?

Possibly. Preview mappings are listed on controls and will be updated from the updates hub after September 24.
